About Us

Aims and Objectives

It is the objective of Briercliffe Day Nursery and Education Centre to provide the highest standards of care and education for all children attending the setting.

We aim to provide a happy, friendly, comfortable and safe environment where the children are stimulated, challenged and fulfil all their learning needs through play experiences.

Staff are committed to responding to children’s individual learning needs as well as maintaining high standards of partnerships with parents and carers to ensure that all families using our service are involved in their children’s care and learning path.

Management and staff members of Briercliffe Day Nursery and Education Centre constantly aim to:-

Provide the highest quality of childcare and education by offering a variety of developmentally appropriate activities and resources alongside continually developing provision areas.

Promote a happy, supportive and positive ethos in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere that encourages open and direct communication between the setting and home.

Ensuring that management and staff implement the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and implement any recommendations laid out by Ofsted at each inspection.

Respect children as individuals and take into consideration their every need.

Management and supervisors ensure that staff are selected and trained to the highest standards to meet the needs of the children in their care.

Welcome parents, carers and families into the setting of all children attending our setting.

Registration and Ratios

We are Ofsted registered for sixty nine children at any one time; children are separated into rooms that are well resourced to meet their developmental and care needs. Staff are committed to working in partnership with parents and carers when it comes to the transition process of moving from one room to the next.

Staff are keyed into the individual needs of children in their key person group and pride themselves on liaising with parents as to when children are ready to move up into the next room. Staff focus upon when children are developmentally ready to make a transition rather than focusing upon age groups.

Our room ratios are as follows;

Twinkle Stars – 0-2 years
18 children with 6 members of staff.

Shooting Stars – 2 – 3 years
15 children with 4 members of staff.

Super Stars – 3 –4 years 36 children with 5 members of staff.

We are open from 7:30am until 5:30pm Monday to Friday.
